Hello, I am a single man with a god-daughter that I have raised from birth. She knows her maternal mother, who is my cousin, and does some things with her. She doesn't know her real dad, but she knows who he is and where he lives. But I am the one that she calls "Daddy". I love her very much and would like to adopt her. She has asked me to adopt her since she first found out about what adoption was when she went to Kindergarten. Now that she is ten years old, I feel that she understands what she is wanting. Her real parents have told me that they would sign the papers for me to adopt her. | ||||||||||||||||

| My problem is that I am a single christian man who has never been married, and because of religeous beliefs, won't have sex until I get married. The courts don't like doing adoptions to single persons, especially not single men. I live in Northern California and I would like to get any information that I can collect about adopting her. Also, I don't make very much money, so any suggestions on making more money, and still be able to spend the quality time that I am spending with her currently, will be much appreciated as I will need to make more money if I am going to adopt her.
